  • Morning: Get a sense of the city center and its history by strolling around the old town. Joining an organized walking tour (here) is a great option for this.

  • Afternoon: Visit the Palace of Parliament and remember to take a picture from the balcony where Michael Jackson made a speech in 1992. Depending on your interests, taking one of the many tours is a good option.

  • Evening: Head back to the city center and experience traditional Romanian cuisine at Caru' cu Bere.

Day 2

  • Morning: Head North to the Herăstrău park, and start your visit by taking a picture next to Bucharest's own Arcul de Triumf. Enter the park, and stroll around the lake and its natural surroundings.

  • Afternoon: While in the park, enter the National Village Museum to learn about the traditional village life and architecture in the different regions of Romania. Alternatively, you can walk 15 minutes towards the Primaverii Palace and get a sense of how every day life looked like for CeauÅŸescu.

Day 3

  • Morning: Depending on your pace, start the day by visiting the National Museum of Art or the National Museum of National History (great for kids!), or head straight to Therme.

  • Afternoon / Evening: Spend the day in Therme : You can have fun at one of the many indoor and outdoor pools (some of them with their own bars), unwind at the different themed saunas, and letting your inner kid come out at the slides area. To avoid the long queues, remember to buy your tickets in advance here

If you are missing energy at some point, get recharged with a (big) bite of the traditional Kurtos Kalacs pastry.

  • Evening: Head back to the main square and get an outdoor seat at La Ceaun to enjoy traditional Romanian cuisine.
